The Stages in Developing a Short Term Rental Business are Many and before starting on the process need to have a clear goal as a business. Planning

Pre-planning meeting to discuss proposals with planners with rough drawings. They will have guidelines for site or area development

Then develop the Planning document proposals and apply for Planning

Business Plan

Have a clear business plan to discuss with the local development agency. Include sources of funding, land, buildings and have a clear costing for developing the project

Management Set up

Finance Sorted for full development including all elements of the build process

Cost Insurance for development and for final Glamping business in place. A Health and Safety Statement will be needed and this will be required for Insurance.

Marketing Plan for Business – Plan rates. Make a marketing plan with business name and set up. Have a Booking System + Terms and Conditions of Booking Link with other tourism business in area

Building

Once planning has been given depending on the site you may have to do groundworks with footpaths, roads in place. Clear details of Water supply, electrics , plumbing, sewage and sustainable power provided. Groundworks completed and certified. Renovation of existing buildings, central management block and pre-fabricated units developed with additional services

Set Up

Get Stafff organised and trained – may need clanging staff, office staff and site management.

Tidy the site, decorate the interior and make the site as attractive as possible. Add the furniture and testa all equipment. You many need to set up a laundry area and will need an office area and reception centre. Develop links with local community

Opening the Business

Officially open your business with local businesses, dignitaries and organisation who have helped you in the set up. Get some publicity and make clear your offering to all. Have a marketing plan and sell your offering linked to other businesses in the area, national and internationally. Be clear what you offer and who your ideal guests are
